I am now setting up my presentation for this project and i am happy with my result , i managed to learn as much as i could on how to play the guitar and as well as take care of it. I hope that this presentation goes well and i was able to cover everything or as much as i could.

I have found another song to add to what i have learned. The song is called 505 by the artic monkeys and it uses 2 chords,Em and Dm. The way that this song is played can be modified and it still sound the same. i think that i should go with the modified version , just because i do not want to keep taking long periods of time to reach one goal. I will use this song for my final presentation about my journey to learning the guitar.
Its almost the end and i am not sure how i feel about how far ive come. My original goal was to end up learning more than a couple songs but that has not been the case. I have learned how to play certain songs, but when it comes to actually playing them , that is the problem. I need to figure something about so i have in some way reached my goal and not just found the ways on how to reach it. I do think i have succeeded in a way tho, just not in the way that was intended.
This is the first song i have learned somewhat successfully, i took this project for granted because i thought it would all go smoothly when it has not. Trying new things is difficult especially when you have a very little musical background. If i can not learn this song, i will not have been able to reach my goal the way that i wanted too but at the end of the day , i still managed to learn an instrument by myself which is something that i am very proud of.
Transitioning between notes is difficult. I have tried to find ways to go from shape to shape without having a really long pause in between transitions , which has been a new issue that i have been trying to fix. Throughout this project i have realized that not everything can be learned at the same pace and some things take longer to learn than others. YouTube has been my best source to finding tutorials and ways to improve my playing. I am hoping to be done completely with riptide and moving on into different and more difficult songs and getting out of the use of open chords. I know them but i still am not sure how to play some without touching the neighboring stings, the D and F chord have been my most difficult chords to play without coming out with a mute or buzzing sound from the strings. That is why i chose riptide as my first song because the only chords needed are Am,G and C.
Everything is going well , its time to finally learn a song. I have been practicing riptide this week and its simple enough for me not to get caught up with the strumming , which has also improved significantly because i finally have something to go off of. After this song i was thinking about just going off more simple songs because this will help me gain more and more practice with transitioning notes , staying on beat and pacing myself. Also i have now learned all of my open chords so my next practice will be consisting of other chords such as 7s and minor chords etc.
I realized that i have been sort of rushing this project , i am trying to pace myself with everything right now and focus on one thing at a time. A song is my next objective, it will help me with learning to strum on beat and with transitioning on the fret board on time. The song i will be attempting to learn is riptide by Vance Joy since it just uses 3 chords that i already know, which are A minor,G, and C. This song will help me with learning to strum correctly and on time, as well as transitioning between chords.
I have learned the strings , their names , a couple chords and i am still working on strumming patterns. I have realized that learning patterns will work a lot better with actual songs, I will find some songs to go off of to really practice strumming and seeing which chords are the most important when it comes to playing those songs.I was recommend to learn the Bb major scale which i will start practicing later on other than going off and finding some random chords to try.
Today i am practicing strumming patterns , and finger placement. For right now i am using my fingers , i dont really enjoy doing this but it will have to do for right now.The reason i am using my fingers is because i lost my pic, i ordered a set so i hopefully do not loose them again.Keeping rhythm consistent is the most difficult part to me when it comes to strumming. I have also been recommend to try out 4 notes (Em , C,G,D) repeating those over and over to myself will help me remember their placement.
Today my strings came in to restring my guitar. I had to replace the E and B string because they had snapped while i was attempting to tune it. My main focus right now is to learn a set of notes, the basics. I have learned the strings and their notes, EADGBE, By next Wednesday i want to have learned simple chords. I am enjoying the schedule i have right now and hope to continue it without being sidetracked or fall behind on what i am supposed to be focusing on on certain days.
